Fort Worth Running Company has a mission to
provide our community with quality athletic products and training programs.
Owners James and Jim have both been running for a combined total of over 55
years now. They leverage this extensive experience into their customer
service and training programs.
Fort Worth Running Company has all major brands of
running and walking shoes and apparel. The store offers the best selection of
running and walking shoes in Dallas/Fort Worth at competitive prices. We
also have a great selection of apparel with an eye towards giving customers
great selections of product.
To properly analyze customers, the store uses real-time slow-motion video analysis of
each customer to prescribe the best
shoes for each customer.
The store was started in 1998. It
is a Fort Worth owned and operated company and is active in many community
charity runs, having founded many of the local runs such as El Scorcho Ultra
Marathon in
July and Run For The Riders 5k in May.
Jim and James Newsom are the father-son owners who were both born,
raised, and educated in Fort Worth. They both attended Paschal High School
and Jim is a graduate of Texas Wesleyan College and James is a graduate of
University of Texas at Arlington. Both Jim and James have coached cross
country at the high school level. James was a teacher in the Fort Worth
Independent School District for many years.
Jim joined his son in the
store in 2001 after coaching for Team-In-Training for 12 years. He received an award for Best Running Coach in Texas
by Competitor Magazine at White
Rock Marathon in 2007.

staff of Fort Worth Running Company is not on a sales commission and they are
interested in helping every person who walks in our doors to find the best
products for their needs. Our store has a reputation for quality customer
