Q: How do I register for the Moritz FW YMCA Turkey Trot?
There are a few different ways to register:
Online ‚

Online registration closes Tuesday, Nov 24th at 5:00 PM. If you choose to pick up your packet prior to the race, your packet pick-up location is the Fort Worth Running Company located on:
5800 Camp Bowie Fort Worth TX 76107 (817) 731-1760; you can pick it up beginning at noon on Thursday, November 19th through Wednesday,Nov. 25th.
Please allow 2 days after registering on line before picking up your packet.
Mail In ‚
Registration forms will be mailed to past participants in late September or early October. You can get on our mailing list by emailing cbutler@ymcafw.org and we‚ mail you a form. The postmark deadline for mail-in registration is Saturday, November 14th. Please do not mail registration forms after that date. Registration forms can be mailed to:

Walk In ‚
You can register in person at the Fort Worth Running Company located on: 5800 Camp Bowie,Fort Worth TX 76107, (817) 731-1760; between November 19th - 25th and pick up your packet at that time. Packet pick up will be held from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm during week days and Saturday. Sunday hours are from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
Race Day ‚
You can register race day in the early morning. Registration begins at 6:00 am. Please plan on additional time if you choose race day registration. Early arrival ensures you won't miss the race start.
Team/Family Registration ‚
Team/Family can be done for groups of 5 or more runners who register and pay together on or before Saturday November 14th. Teams do not need to all participate in the same event. Team packet pick up will be on Thursday November 19th and all teams must be picked up, in their entirety, later than Wednesday November 25th. Please make sure who ever picks up the team packet knows the name of the team and the number of participants.
Q: Is there a different cost for the 5K and 10K?
No, the cost is the same, for either the 5k or 10 k race. Register early for the lowest price.
Q: What if I want to run both the 5K and 10K races?
Runners are able to participate in both races for an additional $5.00. If you are going to be chip timed, you will use the same chip for both races.
Q: Is the "Gobbler Trot"‚ a separate event or distance?
Yes, the Gobbler Trot is a 1K fun run. The cost of the Gobbler Trot is $16.00 per runner. Parents who ran the 5K may accompany their child(ren) in the Gobbler Trot for free. This run is not a timed event.
Q: Can I walk?
Yes, we have lots of walkers. We ask walkers to start at the back of the pack.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
Well trained, friendly dogs on leashes (max. 3 ft.) are welcome. Owners maintain responsibility for their pets. Dogs must be registered for the event and will receive a Turkey Trot dog bandana. *Please see Dog/Stroller Policy at bottom of page.
Q: Is skating or cycling allowed?
No, because they travel at a higher speed, for the safety of others, rollerblades, Heelies, roller skates, scooters and bicycles are not allowed in the FW YMCA Turkey Trot.
Q: Where do I pick up my packet?
If you register by mail or online, your packet will be available at the Fort Worth Running Company located on: 5800 Camp Bowie,Fort Worth TX 76107beginning at noon on November 19th. For online registrations, please allow 2 days after registering before you pick up your packet. If you register in person at the Fort Worth Running Company between November 19th-25th, you will pick up your packet when you register. If you register on Race Day, you will get your packet at that time. It is strongly encouraged to pick up your packet prior to race day. If you choose to pick up on race day, there is no guarantee that shirts or chips will be available.
Q: Can someone else pick up my packet?
Yes. The person picking up the packet(s) will need the participant's name. When picking up the packet there will be a list of names with bib numbers displayed. That is all that is needed.
Q: Do I have to be chip timed?
No, chip timing is not required to participate in either the 5k or 10k run. Those that want to be chip timed must fill out that portion of the registration form and pay an additional $2.00 for the chip. If you are a competitive runner who hopes to place in your age division, you must be chip timed.
Q: Can I use my own chip for timing?
No. All chips are assigned to bib numbers prior to the race. Chips will be picked up on race day beginning at 6:00 am.
Q: Can I write one check for all participants?
Yes. We need a separate, signed registration form for each participant, Gobbler Trot and dog, but one check can be sent in with all of the forms.
Q: Is there assistance available if I can't do the whole course?
Yes, we have paramedics, radio operators and police officers patrolling the course. If you need assistance, just ask a volunteer or an officer for help. We also have water stops and restrooms located on the course.
Q: Are baby strollers allowed?
Absolutely, we ask strollers to line up at the back of the pack. Don't forget to register your child so they can have an official race shirt and number. A Great family photo opp!

Q: Are there concessions available at the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot?
The Turkey Trot will provide water and fruit for our participants at no charge. Other vendors and sponsors often provide additional complimentary refreshments such as coffee and yogurt.
Q: Rain or snow? Will you still have the Trot?
In general, no matter what the weather, the Turkey Trot will go on! Only severe lightning will delay the event. Our paramount concern is the safety of our participants.
Q: What happens to the proceeds from the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot?
Proceeds from the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot benefits the YMCA scholarship program. Because of the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot, families as well as individuals of all ages are able to participate in YMCA programs. Sponsors and participants help the YMCA say ‚"yes" to those in need.
Q: Where do I park when I get to the Turkey Trot?
There is parking available in several vacant parking lots along Camp Bowie as well as limited parking around the race area. On street parking should be limited to the south side of Camp Bowie to avoid conflict with the 5k and 10k. We encourage participants to car pool if possible.
Q: Is there an extra fee to register on-line?
Yes. It is a convenience fee that our 3rd party data processor charges to provide the service.
Q: Does it cost more to be chip timed?
Yes. It costs an additional $2.00.
*Dog/Stroller/Walker Policy:
All dogs and strollers and Walkers are strongly recommended to line up at the back of the pack. Please keep all dogs to a maximum 3 foot leash
